Why do we rush?

Taking your time... Humans are designed to take their time, before jumping into situations.... not that kind of time which requires a “fight or flight” attitude, but real time in which you are able to assess the situation to ensure that it benefits you going forward... In today’s society many of us are too quick to make decisions that affect our lives, mentally, emotionally and physically... something that in the end may not turn out to be a healthy combination... so it leads to the question “what is the rush?” With the introduction of the web in 1983, (history.com) the way humans viewed the world changed, while this was a initially slow process, this became more evident in the 1990’s when the internet started to develop further, and even more so in the milliueum. All of a sudden everything became instant, and to be honest now in 2018, everything you want is at a click of a button, so why do we need to wait? Waiting is important because it adds a sense of value to your life, it allows you the time to truly analyse what is meant to happen, and the benefits of feeling that real excitement due to having the time for true reflection..... Impulsive buying can be one element of rushing, how many times have I purchased something I never really wanted or needed, but at the time, and because of the easiness of this process I proceeded to buy it anyway... only for it to be either hanging in my wardrobe never worn or hid away in the corner of my house somewhere! One of the reasons we may rush is that we always feel as though we are missing out on something if we stay still for too long. All the same, for some of us, we may rush to keep up with what everyone else is doing so that we don’t feel as though we are left behind. The true element here, is that we are all individuals, all here for a life purpose which no one will be able to fill in the same way as you!

So does that mean that rushing will make our goal or plan happen any quicker... on the contrary many times I have rushed only to wish I could turn the clock back and start again! (I wasn’t meant to be in this place! Why didn’t I listen to my inner guidance!). There are also the times that we rush to avoid our true feelings, those inner parts of your soul that need healing. Therefore we move constantly to avoid these feelings of die-ease and discomfort... but at what cost? If we we are unable to slow down for long enough to truly evaluate why we feel the need to constantly move, then this will only lead to one disaster after another... (I am all about self reflection!). By reflecting on what your rushing into, gives you a true perception of if you really need to be there, have that new shiny item, be in that “perfect relationship” or not.... slow down, take a breather and look at the deepest parts of you to get the answers... To be able to slow down, takes courage, the courage needed that allows you the space to know it is alright to move at a pace that is not as fast as you may want... your gonna get there anyway, only this time you will be taking in the beauty as you make those steps towards your goals... 😬 Moral of the story... Take time to look at you... rushing doesn’t answer any questions you may have, it just makes the future look blurry.... References Who invented the Internet.
